The prototypeD team is proud to release a sneak peek into the future of innovation in Ottawa. Over the last 4 months, our team of graphic, architectural, and industrial designers have collaborated with the City of Ottawa to produce an exciting architectural vision for the new Innovation Centre at Bayview Yards. The Innovation Centre will be an exciting one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs, creatives and innovators to gather, share ideas, launch new businesses, and assist current ventures to reach their highest potential. It will also be an important landing point for foreign investors and a launch point for international success stories.
Our team approached the Bayview Yards with the purpose of creating an architectural environment that fosters a dynamic and engaging ecosystem, and to develop a vision which could gather feedback from and energize the community. The team balanced heritage, structure, accessibility, environmental performance, programming needs, community feedback, and the brownfield state of the site and building to harness the site's potential. We have developed architectural, technological, and programmatic arrangements inside and outside the building to create interconnected spaces which are diverse and rich. Through various consultations and design sessions that we have held at prototypeD and on site at Bayview Yards in March and April, our team has worked hard to capture the energy and potential of Ottawa's entrepreneurs and translate their needs into tangible spaces to support innovation.
This vision is truly a collaborative re-imagining of the Bayview Yards, and we are excited to have contributed at this early phase. As always, we hope that prototypeD's contribution to this project will positively contribute to the growth of a strong, inclusive, and prosperous Ottawa and Canada as a whole.
