YoungJets is a new luxury, charter jet service founded by David Young – a seasoned veteren with decades of experience in the VIP-oriented travel arena. YoungJets is now the preferred charter service for some of the world's top entertainment and VIP clients. YoungJets offers aircraft ranging from the new, very cool BMW designed Embraer Phenom 100 all the way to a Boeing 777 heavy (like the one Rihanna recently charted for her 7/7/7 tour)
creative challenge
In the saturated jet charter service, there are not many opportunities to differentiate as the market is price-driven with cut throat competition. We heard that tour charters have been lost over as little as 1,000 dollars (on a job that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars).
From a visual and brand positioning standpoint, there was little margin for error. YOUNGJETS needs clean, smart design that stands apart. Like other sectors – a cheap look, a poorly functioning website will make an offering look unsafe, "fly by night" or worse. It was critical that right out of the gate YOUNGJETS look professional and worthy of consideration. Of course, we had to create a million dollar brand on a start-up budget.
The huge challenge with creating a visual brand for YOUNGJETS was the lack of branded photography. Since YOUNGJETS is a charter – they are prohibited by the FAA from branding aircraft. We had to use existing manufacturer photography and retouch and impose onto different dramatic backgrounds. For lifestyle, we recommended the images of our pal and rock start photographer DAVID DREBIN. His lifestyle images stand apart and worked beautifully with the brand we created. We combined the imagery with stark white backgrounds and our "global/seamless" element – the circle with is a visual metaphor for seamless point-to-point travel on YOUNGJETS.
