We worked together with another engineering firm to develop a fully automatic used electronics sales kiosk.
The 3-axis robot we designed rode up and down in a rack that moved side to side on a set of linear guide rails. A scissor arm extended front to back and engaged a low-profile plastic pallet that held the products.
We designed every aspect of the robot - including the gear boxes, scissor arm drive train, structural components, motor and linear guide mounts, and sensors.
We did torque, speed, and acceleration calculations in order to select the stepper and servo motors used in the system. We integrated off-the-shelf motor controllers and helped tune the system for optimum performance.
