FIORI

OVERVIEW

Fiori’s product and communication design is founded on insight. Insight we derive through research in the real world, because the complexities of people’s emotions, behaviors and desires can’t be found in focus groups or canned reports. It’s an approach that fuses art with psychology, and it inspires design that connects with people behaviorally and emotionally.

When people buy a new product, whether it's a computer or a cell phone or a new car, they are operating in a state of desire. Deep down they hope that this new thing will not only do its job, but will somehow make their lives better. They expect this new product to be easy to understand, beautiful to look at, utterly dependable, and an absolute joy to use. And they want it to fit so perfectly into their lives that they can't imagine what they did before they found it.

Irrational? Yes. But this is how the relationship with a product starts. In many ways it's similar to falling in love. The state of desire leads to wild expectations and high optimism. Unfortunately, as with many love affairs, the product relationship usually ends up foundering on the rocks of a sad reality.

This is because most products are disappointing in some way. Despite an eye-catching design or a promising new technology, products often fail to provide an overall experience that meets these idealistic expectations. That's why, at Fiori, we spend a lot of time and effort understanding the needs and wants of the target audience. We dig deeper and ask the questions that not only lead to a design that sparks desire, but to a flawless experience that fosters a long-term relationship between the consumer and the product.

Why a flawless experience? Why bother to create a long-term relationship? Because every product represents a brand. And if people have a bad experience with that product—or even a mediocre experience—it affects their attitude toward the entire brand.

But a flawless experience creates an emotional bond between a person and a brand, which translates into long-term loyalty. It's hard to talk a person out of a brand that has met their highest expectations. A flawless experience gives your company market share today, and grows your market share tomorrow.

If this sounds like wild-eyed idealism, keep in mind that it's no crazier than the consumer's expectations. Our goal is to deliver a flawless experience on every product we undertake. Maybe it's time you put this idealism to work for your brand.
