Ahrend is a mid-sized company designing, manufacturing and distributing office furniture.
FLEX/the INNOVATIONLAB has designed a conference chair, Ahrend 360, for the European market. The choice for magnesium for the structural frame is based on the availability of this material and it's low energy content compared to aluminium. All components have been designed for disassembly to make recycling (after the chair has been discarded) a viable option. The chair is successful for it's aesthetics, light weight construction and because it can be stacked in a very compact way.
