Global Homes is an international building design firm specializing in resource-considerate residential and commercial design-build, including historic renovations.
This resource considerate design combines the science of modern building techniques with the spirit of timeless world cultures for your family or employees, wherever your building site is located. We design and construct these buildings to be as energy efficient and sustainable as possible.
Kenton Knowles, design principal, opened Global Homes in 2000 in Baldwin City, Kan., in the northeast part of the state near Topeka, Lawrence and the Kansas City metropolitan area, and keeps an office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Kenton has extensive experience in building and home design, interior architecture, decorating, furniture design and production, and draws inspiration from Scandinavia, Italy and Asia

Global Homes’ mission is to design and produce sustainable buildings for people who want to change their environment without depleting their resources – locally or globally.
How we accomplish our mission:
Global Homes designs and builds residential and commercial structures using an insulated concrete form (ICF) called RASTRA. Using these ICF blocks and the structural insulated panel (SIPS) building system, we can:
* compete with most standard construction in cost; and
* provide a lifetime cost savings of more than 25% on utilities and maintenance, as a general rule.
Global Homes’ buildings help save our non-replenishable natural resources by being Earth and budget friendly.
